Frequently Asked Questions

What's the largest amount of money you can have in coins without being able to make change for a dollar?
$1.19 - 3 quarters, 4 dimes, and 4 pennies. Try it yourself! As a matter of fact, with that amount of money in coin, you can't make change for any other coin, either (with the exception of a half-dollar)!

What's your turnaround time?
We do our best to get orders out in 48 hours or less.

How do you ship orders?
Our standard shipping is 2-3 days.

What's the fastest way for me to send in my order?
Online works best! Overnight services work just fine, too: FedEx, Express Mail, UPS, DHL, Etc.

What size are your post cards?
Regular post cards measure 4.25" x 5.5". Jumbos are 5.5" x 8.5". Colossals are 8" x 10".

May I order, say, only 25 post cards?
No, sorry. Because your job will print on a huge sheet with lots of others, we ask that you order post cards, and all other products, in the quantities shown.

Can I order over the phone?
If it's an EXACT reorder of something we've already printed, yes. If it requires even the most minor of changes, we'll ask you to fax it in.

What are your set up charges?
There are none.

What's the most common mistake when ordering on your website?
Most mistakes (95%) happen when attaching photos. For us to get your photos, they must be stored ON your computer - NOT on an external device such as a digital camera, CD or floppy. Transfer your photos to someplace ON your computer first (desktop is fine), THEN attach.

I need a good scolding.
OK - Don't cut, fold, staple or mutilate your photos! And don't let ink smear on the fronts, we hate that! Play nice with others! Clean up your own mess! No running with scissors! Settle down!

How can I get the best photo reproduction?
Send us the photo and leave it to us. Glossy photos work best. Don't send negatives, only prints. Once we scan your personal photo, we'll digitally archive it so you'll never have to send it again.

What about digital and scanned photos?
Your digital camera probably takes photos in TIFF & JPEG formats, both of which are fine. When sending or e-mailing scanned or digital photos, 200 dpi, JPEG or TIFF format is needed. Scanned photos should be sent in at (or near) the same size which they'll appear on the final printed piece.

Why is an acre 43,560 square feet?
"Acre" is an Anglo-Saxon word that means, literally, the amount of land that can be plowed in one day. The actual size of an acre was obviously variable. That is, until the reign of Henry VIII who codified the measurement to be 40 poles long by 4 poles wide, or 43,560 square feet.

Will you return my original photos?
Yes, always. Look for them in the shipping packet with your order.

Will you send me a fax before printing?
Except for business cards and Mail Service orders, almost never. Reason being, we print thousands of orders every day and if we had to fax everyone and then wait for them to get back to us, our 48-hour production cycle would come to a virtual standstill. However, we will fax you if we have any questions or concerns about your job. Having to fax will delay your order by probably a day.

Why is the pipe under the sink "S" shaped instead of going straight down?
Even though this pipe is "S-shaped", plumbers call it a "P" trap and believe us, you want those curves. The curvy pipe dips down below the horizontal pipe so that a water seal is formed in the bend, assuring that water, not air, will fill the area below the horizontal pipe. This deliberate water blockage is created to block sewer and other foul smells from drifting up the pipe and into the room. As an added bonus, a "P" trap has been known to save countless valuables, such as wedding rings, that have inadvertently been dropped down the drain.

If I just send you everything, will you guys set it up nice?
Yes, that's what we do. You sell houses - so go sell. We'll make whatever you send us look professional and pretty.

Do you take the photos?
We get asked this question a couple times a week. (Hard to believe.) We have two answers:
Sarcastic: Sure, for a $29 post card we'd be delighted to take the photos for you. Just give us directions to the house and we'll hop on the next flight. We'll pick up some film at the airport, and rent a car when we get there. Then we'll fly home, process the film and print your order. No problem.
Courteous: No, you provide the photos.

How do I pay?
A check or credit card with your order, please. We don't bill.

What's the difference between a "No Outlet" and a "Dead End" sign?
Not much. Although by law there is no technical distinction between the two, there is a subtle difference in practice. A "Dead End" sign will commonly be used for roads or streets that terminate within sight of the driver, whereas a "No Outlet" sign is more commonly used to sign a road or street which is the only entrance and exit to a neighborhood or subdivision.

What is Mail Service?
It'd like having your own personal assistant right here at CfRE. When you order post cards, you now have the option to have us address and mail them for you, saving you time and money. Simply upload your mail list online during the ordering process, in Excel or CSV file format. We'll take it from there.

To keep the costs as low as possible, we need to have you place your order online. We have an online tutorial that wil walk you through the website and our Customer Care center is always here to help you with any questions that may arise during your ordering process.

Do I need to sign up for Marketing for Properties?
Yes, because this is one state-of-the-art ordering site! What is UV coating and what makes it so great?
UV coating is a high-gloss coating applied to your product after it has been printed, giving it a polished and professional look. But most of all, UV coating gives your post cards added protection against punishment of postal processing machines.

Do I really get FREE UV coating on my products?
Yes, you heard correctly. You now receive FREE UV coating on the front of all post cards, bookmarks, doorhangers and business cards. Mail Service orders for post cards will receive UV coating on both sides at no additional charge. You can add UV coating to brochures for an additional charge. See the product pages for more information.
